Over the years I’ve noticed that my blog is visited by an increasing number of foreign readers: for this reason in 2022 I’ve published my first review in English and ever since then I’ve started publishing more, once in a while.
First of all, I read a lot of (old and forgotten) books in English.
Secondly, most of my reads are obscure books nobody ever heard of; hence, no reviews exist about several of them, even in English.
Thirdly, writing reviews in English makes them available to everyone, potentially. Hence, books fallen into oblivion might be rediscovered.
Fourthly, I enjoy writing in English, even though my proficiency isn’t as high as native speakers would expect: but I’m an autodidact and got most of my grammar out of old and dusty dictionaries.
Everything else goes by ear.
